As such, it could be possible that the lesser runes we find (even the basic, 200 ones) are newer, while the most powerful ones are older. We also know for a fact that the power of the divine bloodline (Marika and her offspring) becomes diluted and weaker as the generations go by (Godrick being the perfect example). The rune itself could be a reference to how the elden beast corrupted the Crucible, creating the erdtree, which is also the source of the runes.

The colorarion of this specific rune is not golden, but has the specific reddish hue that is mentioned to also be connected to the Crucible (mentioned on the Godrick knight greatshield, which also has a similar color). To me, it also looks like the mark of the Crucible (we can easily see it on the crucible sets and both crucible knight variants). Alternatively, it can be sold to a merchant for the same value. Lord's RuneĀ can be used to gain 50,000 Runes.
